Qatari Ambassador to Seoul held dinner for Journalists

Just after a few days I arrived in Seoul, I was lucky enough to be invited to a sit-down dinner held by the Qatari Ambassador Ahmed Saif Al-Midhadi. Journalists from overseas and local media were invited to the dinner.

The highlight of the function was a very cozy concert by the ambassador’s wife Naomi Maki, a famous Japanese pianist and singer. Mixing the piano with a Korean traditional instrument, the music brought a new interpretation of the growing South Korea to the listeners.

Norway celebrates its Constitution Day

My first embassy function in Seoul was a reception at the Grand Hyatt Hotel held by the Norwegian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Arild Braastad and Mrs. Nina M. Braastad, on the occasion of Norway's Constitution Day on May 17th.

The reception was joined by South Korean Defense Minister Yoon Kwang-Ung and other diplomatic officials currently serving in Seoul.

In the history of Norway, May 17,1814 marks both the country's declaration of independence and the triumph of constitutional government. The national Day for many starts with a ‘brunch’ which is often a virtual ‘sea’ of seafood and other delicacies.
